ONEVU observatory

ONEVU observatory

ONEVU was created in 2006 ; it is a multidisciplinary platform devoted to urban environment monitoring, and focusing on 1) water, pollutants and energy fluxes ; 2) climatology at various scales (neighbourhood and city), 3) urban soils and 4) remote sensing in order to characterize the urban landuse properties. Additionnally to the continuous monitoring of these geochimical variables, some short campaigns may be organised on specific scientific field in order to regroup various monitoring capacities coming from other french partners. This research observatory has a structuring rôle in the research federation IRSTV, by regrouping most of the environmenal monitoring means in common urban sites. By the way, the cross-disciplinary projects and the development of external collaborations are encouraged. This observatory, in relation with Nantes metropole technical services, is also an opportunity to help cities managers to develop sustainable management strategies.

ONEVU, Urban environnement component of OSUNA ( Observatoire des Sciences de l’Univers Nantes Atlantique) has a strong regional integration and participates to the national initiative of INSU, i.e. increasing the visibility of observational data for the scientific community. Given the pluridisciplinary strategy of ONEVU, by taking into account various urban environment compartments (air, water, soil, built space) and by articulating observation with modeling, this observatory has a central role at the national scale.

Main monitored stations within ONEVU, including Raingauges (blue triangles), Flowmeters (blue circles), Temperature station (Gray cross), piezometers (green points) (see additionnal details on IRSTV)

The information system Brigadoon has been developed thanks the Wiski Software (Kisters © ) in order to integrate and store all metadata and data monitored in this observatory.
